Having traded Tyrus Thomas to the Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls are not taking anything to chance as they gear up for the upcoming playoffs. They thrashed Philadelphia seventy sixers to continue their win streak over the past five nights. Chicago bulls rammed in an amazing one hundred and twenty two points to their opponent’s. With Rookiee Taj Gibson led the team with twenty points and thirteen rebounds, Bulls were at their peak over the weekend having smashed a point lead by the end of the first quarter. Allen Iverson was quick to point out that bulls were making the right moves whenever they got the ball. They are surely set to hit the stage with a bang come April.
Being the post season for the years two thousand and eight and two thousand and nine NBA play offs, the two thousand and nine play offs started on April eighteenth last year, featuring eight teams from each of the league’s two conferences. Out of all the teams that participated in the first round from the eastern conference of the league, Chicago Bulls started on a wrong footing by loosing to Boston in the game’s first round. With Bulls trailing by a point, during their next game with Celtics Rookie emerged from behind with nine point six seconds to score with two throws. With about fifty seconds to overtime, Tyrus Thomas scored Chicago Bulls’ eight points to put them up a two point lead ahead of their opponents, with the standings at one hundred and five to one hundred and eight points.
Many analysts described the play offs as the greatest play off series ever, what with the high quality games displayed. Lots of experts predicated a hotly contested and highly charged quarters and semis, which the fans hoped would be an arena through which massive talent would be showcased. Derrick Rose’s play off debut of thirty-six points led the mighty Chicago Bulls into the first game victory since the start of the playoffs, having taken off on a bad footing after loosing the first game. This win against Celtic was phenomenal in its own way as it was the first in history between the duels held by the two teams.
On May eighth at around eight o’clock in the morning, center stage was set for a great duel between the two rivals and this time round, Celtic were not to take it lying down as they thrashed Bulls one hundred and nine points against ninety nine. That marked their elimination from the season’s playoffs. This year’s season will see Chicago Bulls making their 44th season appearance. It is scheduled to start on 18 April and will feature teams from both sides of the league. Last year’s playoffs saw Basketball great Michael Jordan come on to cheer his former team, the one which he led to a world breaking record of thirty one consecutive unbeaten games. He retired in the summer of nineteen ninety two after learning of his father’s murder to be replaced by Scottie Pippen, only for him to return later in the nineteen ninety four, nineteen ninety five season and again led the troubled team to three consecutive wins.
